Keith Filppu
Keith Filppu is the guitarist of the Cedar Creek Duo. Originally from Burke, VA, Keith received his Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory, and his Bachelor of Music degree from James Madison University. Keith teaches guitar at the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy in Winchester, VA, the Barbara Ingram School of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD, and guitar and music theory at Lord Fairfax Community College in Middletown, VA. He has also published two books of guitar music with Clear Note Publications. In his spare time Keith enjoys gardening and wood-working.
Laura Vines Filppu
Laura Filppu is the flutist of the Cedar Creek Duo. Originally from Charlottesville, VA, Laura grew up playing piano and flute. She went on to get her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education with a Jazz Studies minor from James Madison University, and her Master of Music in Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She is currently Band Director at Daniel Morgan Middle School in Winchester, VA. Laura loves teaching music to kids and performing with her husband. She also enjoys knitting, yoga, and reading.
